Katie Bass was born in Sacramento, CA and lived there 6 months before moving up to Tacoma, WA.  In Tacoma she learned to play the piano, act in dramas, enjoy coffee and the Pacific Northwest.  She graduated from Spanaway Lake High School in 2001 and from Pacific Lutheran University in 2005 with a social work degree.

Katie believed that Jesus was her savior as a child and grew up in the church.  She has been on two mission trips, including Spain and Trinidad, where she got to serve and teach the children about Jesus.  There she also fell in love with the people and the culture.  She hopes to travel the world, specifically to China, Thailand, and Vietnam, to work with prostitutes and orphans.

In 2006, she came to YFC as a part-time foster care case-aide.  Now she is working a full-time schedule, monitoring visits between birth parents and their children, and also serving as a case manager for children who have been returned to their parent's custody.  Katie would love to see more teen foster homes rise up in Pierce County, and for those teens to be lavishly loved.
