Deaf Teen Quest

There are few things in life more exciting, challenging, and rewarding than working with teenagers! They are a remarkable bundle of conflicting emotions and evolving insights. Teenagers need positive role models and Christian adults in their lives to help them make sense out of the confusing messages in our culture. DTQuest is about this quest for identity and meaningful relationships with others, with oneself, and with God. Deaf teens need to know they are created in God's image and learn of His great love for them! DTQuest creates a place of fun, friendship, fellowship and faith.

Deaf and hard of hearing teenagers have the unique challenge of belonging to at least three cultural groups: their families, the youth culture, and the Deaf-World. Making sense of these unique dynamics is an important part of developing leadership skills and personal confidence. Adolescence is a time of growth and learning; teens are making significant choices which will affect the rest of their lives. Through authentic friendships with DTQuest leaders and opportunities to gather and grow, Deaf and hard of hearing teenagers across the nation are enjoying positive peer interactions and friendships. Experiencing these healthy relationships is the foundation of a life full of meaning and purpose.

DeafYouth Ministries is the parent organization of  DTQuest and was established in 2000 as a national, interdenominational ministry to Deaf and hard of hearing teenagers sponsored in different areas by local, like-minded relational ministries.

Tacoma YFC began a partnership with DTQ in 2005.  We are excited to have Grow groups and monthly events to plug into.  For more information on Tacoma YFC Deaf Teen Quest, please email Mike Olson or call him at (253) 651-8719.
