Last Sunday night Dwayne Parker and the SOZO Soljaz held a special CD release party at the Vault in downtown Tacoma.  The SOZO Soljaz is a group of young people involved in our City Life ministry who are using their God given musical talents to praise God and tell others of how He rescued them.  What’s especially unique is that each of these kids have come out of gangs and are now walking with Christ!  That night was unbelievable because of the turnout (over 100 people), the music (two song samples are below), and the testimony of God’s power to change lives…and entire families.

That night three of the kids ministering through music–Air, Mister and T.T.– were blessed by having their mom and dad present.  It had been a long time since this family was last “together” in many ways. Mom and Dad are no longer married and Dad has spent quite a bit of time in prison. But Dad recently came to Christ while in prison and is out and clean…for the first time in a while. What was so encouraging was watching Mom and Dad bless and pray over their children, openly thanking God for what He is doing in their lives.

For all of our City Life staff this was a tremendous shot in the arm for their work in pursuing lost young people in the Hilltop and Eastside Tacoma communities.  Way to go Darrin, Chrisy, Trent, Dwayne, Doug and so many more!
