This morning I drove down to Tillicum to see first hand the progress made over the past couple of weeks.  I was amazed at the work of McConaghy Construction…what a transformation!  I walked through the site for a few minutes and watched a crew putting in the HVAC as well as an electrician from Laser Electric.  I’ve posted some pictures below, the first being the “before” picture from the front of the former Wander In Tavern, the second being the “current” progress. Wow!

I couldn’t help but think that what we’re seeeing with this former run down and deserted building is what we see happening every day in young lives through the ministries of Tacoma YFC across Pierce County.  I also began to get excited for a grand opening in the next two months for the Tillicum center and the many kids whose lives will be forever changed because they connected with a caring adult, learned a skill and, most importantly, became engaged in the life long journey of following Jesus Christ.  That’s how real life change takes place!
