Why Tillicum?

Our Vision
To provide the youth of Tillicum with a safe place to develop into healthy citizens, connecting them with caring adults who will help meet their physical, mental and spiritual needs.
The Tillicum Youth Center Project is a state of the art youth center that offers the following:
- Kitchen: to learn the basics of nutrition and food preparation
- Storage Area: for supplies and Laptop Lab wireless network
- Study, tutoring and counseling rooms
- Stage for large group activities
- Video Game and Multimedia Center
- Office and Reception areas
- A venue for partnership with other youth services
YFC has also purchased two duplexes located directly behind the Youth Center. Each of the four units will allow for interns and volunteers to live in Tillicum and make an impact by committing to 10 hours/week of community service.
The Cost
The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust has granted Tacoma YFC a $100,000 matching grant. For every dollar donated to the project, the Murdock Trust will match it dollar for dollar up to $100,000... your investment will be automatically doubled!
