God will be with us through hard times

This past fall has been tough for me and my family. Both my parents had lost their jobs. They had been looking for work for a long time and nothing was changing. I prayed everyday that God would help us to just make it through… to survive. He answered my prayer – my mom is now working. I can see God helping us. Campus Life has helped my to appreciate and value my life; even when things are tough and I am struggling. I look forward to each day and knowing that Jesus is there.

Being a student leader at Truman has been a great thing for me to do this past year. When I walk on to campus every Thursday I get a chance to talk with kids and listen to their stories. I can share my own story and encourage them to see life in the fullest and know that Christ is with them and he will help them… just like he helps me!

I still have issues to deal with but because of Campus Life and the leaders who are there for me, I am learning to be more respectful when others treat me wrong and that my life has value!
