Ruth is originally from London in the United Kingdom, where she volunteered in Youth Ministry Projects and served with Waltham Forest Youth for Christ. In March 2007, Ruth joined us as a volunteer to work with the staff in Tacoma and Lakewood. Ruth married Josiah Herried in 2007 after they met in London during Josiah's ministry tour with his family. Since then Ruth has gone through the immigration process to make her stay here in the U.S. permanent. She continues to be involved with Campus Life ministries in Lakewood, working alongside a team who visit high schools on a weekly basis. Ruth helps with the Tillicum Drop In Center and co-ordinats all the meals that are cooked every week, with the aim of providing a family style, nutritious meal for the many students that come to the center. In 2008 Ruth became a part-time employee in the Tacoma Office working as a receptionist. So if you hear an English accent on the phone when you call the Tacoma YFC office - don't worry, you have reached the right place.
